Our 2560-square foot vacation home features 4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Bathrooms, a beautiful slate entryway, and two large great rooms. Located in the Tahoe Donner area of Truckee, we're minutes from all of the major ski resorts in North Lake Tahoe (including Squaw Valley and Northstar), 40 miles from Reno-Tahoe International Airport and just three hours from the Bay Area. This beautifully appointed, spacious home can easily accommodate 3 families together and sleeps 10. With 4 showers, everyone can get ready at the same time. With a hot tub on the deck, super comfy beds, a spacious kitchen, WiFi Internet, and lots of room to spread out and relax, many guests tell us that ours is the NICEST vacation house they've ever stayed in!!! Adults can enjoy the comfortable downstairs living room while kids retreat to the large upstairs great room stocked full of toys--including a train table, wooden tracks, and Thomas trains! Both living rooms have wood-burning stoves, TVs with DVD players (one has VCR, too), and stereos. Tastefully decorated throughout, all furniture is new within the last 4 years, including leather sofas downstairs and faux-suede sofas and recliners upstairs. Take your pick of sleeping arrangements: A master bedroom with luxurious King-sized bed downstairs, 2 bedrooms with new Queen-sized beds upstairs, and an adorable kids’ room with 2 bunk beds to sleep 4 children. Each equipped with high-end bedding, electric blankets or down comforters, plus all the extra sheets, pillows, blankets, towels, and beach towels you'll need to during your relaxing stay. Enjoy cooking in the large, fully-stocked kitchen with all the amenities and lots of counter space. The dining room seats 8 comfortably. We have a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, rice cooker, and other appliances for your convenience. Plenty of plates, glasses, utensils, cloth napkins, pots and pans, etc., too. There is a large study with two desks (or room for an air mattress), and the house features WiFi wireless internet access. Kids will enjoy the large back yard--perfect for sledding or snow play in the winter or exploring the woods in the summer, with a little creek that runs through the property in the spring (and sometimes into the summer), while the adults sit out on the deck and enjoy the tall evergreens. Out on the deck, a hot tub is available for your enjoyment, as is a redwood picnic table with umbrella and lounge chairs. The house comes with guest passes for access at discounted rates to dozens of amenities in Tahoe Donner: 18-hole golf course, driving range (which becomes a sledding hill in winter), a full weight room, exercise classes, 3 swimming pools, family and adult hot tubs, sauna, massage, horseback riding (cross-country ski area in the winter), and a semi-private beach at Donner Lake with paddle boats, kayaks, swimming, and crawdad fishing for the kids! Other summer options include rafting on the Truckee river, gorgeous hiking and mountain biking trails for all levels, and so much more. In winter: Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area and Cross Country Center, less than 1 mile away, are perfect for kids and beginners. Squaw Valley, Northstar, Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl, and many more slopes, plus ice-skating rinks, sledding and tubing hills, all nearby. Easy access: We are located on one of Tahoe Donner's main roads, which is constantly cleared in winter, and our flat driveway is kept plowed, as well. We've never been stuck, even in the harshest of winters!
